Alleged killers of police official held
PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department has arrested two alleged killers of the deputy security head of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and his friend.
The deputy inspector general of the CTD, Imran Shahid, told reporters that both the killers Liaqatullah alias Mujahid and Mujeebullah of Dargai were arrested in connection with the killing Inspector Wakeel Khan a few days back.The accused, he said, confessed to have killed the police in Dargai.
Inspector Wakeel Khan along with two sons and his friend Naseeb Khan was on his way in Dargai Bazaar when armed motorcyclists opened fire on them. Wakeel Khan and his friend were martyred while his sons were injured and were shifted to hospital.
An official said a brother of Wakeel Khan, Saeed, suffered a severe heart attack when he heard the news of the death of his brother and was taken to the intensive care unit. However, he also expired at the hospital. Wakeel Khan was posted at the CM House as assistant chief security officer for a long time.
