College to be upgraded to postgraduate level

JHANG: Punjab Higher Education Secretary Irfan Ali has stressed students to participate in co-curriculum activities to improve their personalities.
Addressing a ceremony in connection with quiz programmes at the Government College for Women here on Friday, he said: “Tolerance is a key to make our lives comfortable and easier.” He announced that the college would be upgraded to the postgraduate level and MA and Msc classes would soon be started. He promised for early provision of missing facilities and resolving the issue of staff shortage in the college. Principal Abida Shahbaz and others also spoke.
INQUIRY: Taking notice of a public complaint, District Education Officer (Elementary) Kausar Nasim Ramay has directed Deputy District Education Officer Azra Amjad to hold an inquiry regarding issues of the Government Girls Elementary School at Muslimnagar.
Through a complaint, the DEO was informed that the post of the school headmistress had been deliberately kept vacant. Due to the situation, only three students out of 39 were declared successful in the annual examinations.
