‘Punjab govt taking steps for

strengthening cooperative system’

FAISALABAD: The Punjab government has taken revolutionary steps for strengthening cooperative system to promote economic activities and generating opportunities for employment.

This was said by Punjab Minister for Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar while addressing a certificates distribution ceremony at the Cooperative Training College on Sargodha Road on Friday. Former Punjab Cooperative secretary Babar Hayat Tarar, Registrar Ch. Muhammad Nawaz, Principal Ch Muhammad Saleem and other officers were also present. More than 50 assistant registrars cooperative have completed the diploma courses during the training session. The minister greeted the diploma holders and said that the training programme was also among the reforms which had been introduced. He said that cooperative system would be made inline with the requirements for bringing business community into cooperative system. He advised the officers and staff of the Cooperative Department to perform their duties with full zeal and commitment. He said that the Punjab CM had announced the Kisan Package worth Rs 1 billion for bringing green revolution in the agriculture sector. He said that farmer’s community should take maximum benefits from the Kisan Package for their prosperity. Babar Hayat Tarar said that various uplift projects had been initiated for upgradation of cooperative training institutions. He highlighted the importance and significance of cooperative system. Ch Nawaz thanked the cooperative minister and secretary for making efforts for the development of the department and promoting the cooperative system. Earlier, the Cooperative minister inaugurated a project being carried out for upgradation of the Cooperative Training College at a cost of Rs 127 million. He also inspected the development works and expressed his satisfaction over the quality of construction.
