LAHORE: A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) for the removal of Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani from the post.
The petitioner’s lawyer Nadeem Sarwar took the stand that Sadiq Sanjrani contested the election on the seat of Balochistan Provincial Assembly, Sadiq Sanjrani won the election and Election Commission also issued a notification of his success and Sadiq Sanjrani cannot hold two seats at the same time.
The petition says that Sadiq Sanjrani is working illegally as the Senate chairman Senate. The court should order the Election Commission to declare the seat of Sadiq Sanjrani vacant as a senator and the court should also order to stop Sadiq Sanjrani from working as the Senate Chairman.
