‘PTI wants to expose people who looted, plundered national wealth’

SUKKUR: Vice Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said corruption is a big stigma and three prime ministers have lost their jobs after the Panama papers, but our rulers are not serious in accountability. He said this on Friday while addressing a huge public rally at the Jinnah Bagh Chowk, Larkana.

Qureshi said: “The rulers of the country have been misusing its resources for the last 60 years and sent billions of rupees to Swiss accounts. Every new born of Pakistan faces  Rs110,000 foreign debt.” He added that the PTI wants to expose the people who looted and plundered the national wealth.

“All opposition parties have supported this principled stance of the PTI. We feel the government is not sincere in initiating a probe into the Panama Leaks; therefore, the opposition has rejected the TORs for the proposed probe commission as the Panama Leaks mentioned the names of the prime minister and his family.”  Talking about Sindh, he said the Federation is incomplete without Sindh, although Punjab is the largest province in respect of population but Sindh leads the politics of the country. He said the Sindh province had made big decisions; the Sindh Assembly passed the resolution of the country.

He said the PTI has started a struggle against corruption from the Sindh province. He praised the  people of Sindh for waging a war against Zia-ul-Haq, and Ayub Khan during the martial laws and played a big role in removing the uniform of Pervaiz Musharraf.

Qureshi said there are terrorist assaults throughout the country, there is national crises of poverty, inflation and loadshedding. He said the existing system in Pakistan has proved ineffective and it is the need of the time to change the system and bring the rule of law.

Later, Shah Mahmood Qureshi visited the office of the District Bar Association, Larkana, and met with lawyers. Addressing on the occasion, he said black coats have always struggled against dictatorship and they played a key role in unlocking the gate of the assemblies during the Zia era. Lawyers and the media can play a big role for change. He said Larkana has given birth to great leaders like Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who gave the gift of the 1973 Constitution to the nation.

Qureshi led the rally which was taken out from the Otha Chowk to Jinnah Bagh, Larkana.  He was accompanied by PTI leaders Dr Arif Alvi, Haleem Adil Sheikh, PTI Larkana leader Shafqat Husain Unnar and others. A large number of PTI workers in cars and on motorcycles participated in the convoy. People at different places warmly welcomed the caravan and showered rose petals on them.
