Man arrested for killing wife

LAHORE : Sabzazar police arrested a suspect for killing his wife few days back. Bilal had differences over domestic issues with his wife Rahat Bibi.

He had an exchange of harsh words with wife and murdered her by slitting his throat. The suspect afterwards fled the scene. Police arrested the suspect and were investigating the matter.

Woman burning incident turns out to be attempted suicide

In drop scene of setting ablaze of a woman outside an office by her ex-husband in South Cantonment, the incident turned out to be an attempted suicide.

A woman, Shumaila, had been set on fire outside an office. Later, it was alleged that the victim had immolated herself to settle score with her ex-husband Asif. She had married him of her choice eight years back.

However, they had developed differences and separated. She had developed a grudge against him and wanted to settle score.

Asif worked as a security supervisor in a company. She reached outside his office and set on fire. When police probed and collected evidence, it turned out that she had set herself on fire and the incident was caught on CCTV camera.

Seven-year-old child assaulted

Suspect Hussain Ali took victim Arzak to a deserted place where he subjected him to rape.

Police have arrested the suspect after registering a case. Police were investigating.

1,1931 kites seized

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana has said 1,1931 kites and 314 spools were confiscated from the arrested kite flyers. Meanwhile, at least 746 cases were registered against kite flyers in the province during the last two days.

As per spokesperson of Punjab police, 654 people involved in manufacturing, buying, selling and using metal strings and kites were arrested and 5,274 kites, 1,974 spools of kite strings and metal strings were recovered from the possession of the accused.

Similarly, 26 cases were registered and 28 persons were arrested during the crackdown against the display of arms and aerial firing.

Man stabbed by his father

A man was stabbed and injured by his father over a domestic dispute in Ghaziabad. Victim Mubashir of Fatehgarh had returned home from abroad. He had differences with his father Munir over some domestic dispute. Munir called his son to meet him before leaving Pakistan. As he went to see him, the father and son started a heated debate. During the altercation, Munir injured his son.

Seven die on roads

At least seven people died whereas 1,230 were injured in 1,179 accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 548 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 682 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams thus reducing the burden of hospitals.
