The reasonable majority

This letter refers to the news report ‘COAS praises courageous ASP for saving woman from charged mob’ (February 29, 2024). The elements in Lahore that reacted to Arabic script on a woman’s clothing in a most frightening and vicious manner should ponder their actions after the criticism they have received from several quarters.
The support and praise of the COAS for the brave police woman sends a clear message against such mob violence, in my view. Such extreme behaviour often ends up dividing the people between those who are supportive and those who reject such acts. Thankfully, the latter appear to be in the majority.
