Ministry forms committee to probe housing project
The committee will inquire how the contractor submitted the fake bank guarantee of over Rs710 million and how it was accepted without verification

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Housing and Works has constituted a four-member committee to hold an inquiry into a Park Road Housing Project scandal involving submission of a fake bank guarantee by the project contractor.
Deputy Secretary Housing and Works Adnan Rasheed will head the committee which includes Director Javed Akbar Shaikh, Executive Engineer PWD Farhan and Assistant Engineer PWD Fawad.
The committee will inquire how the contractor submitted the fake bank guarantee of over Rs710 million and how it was accepted without verification.
The committee will identify the people involved in acceptance of the bank guarantee and know how much amount the contractor paid for it. It will also submit a report on work on the project.
