Man sentenced to life in wife’s murder case

NOWSHERA: Additional District and Sessions Judge Tayyab Khan sentenced a man reportedly responsible for his wife’s murder to life imprisonment.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs500,000 for the affected family. Failure to pay the fine would result in an additional six months of incarceration.
The incident occurred two years ago when Sumera died by hanging and her husband Gulrez Khan was accused of perpetrating the murder.
The case, filed by Ayesha on April 1, 2022, implicated Gulrez Khan in the crime.
On the basis of witnesses’ testimonies, evidence, and proofs presented during the trial, the judge sentenced Gulrez to life in prison and an additional six-month sentence in case he fails to pay the fine.
