KARACHI: Another Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight attendant has slipped away in Canada from a Toronto destination flight.
The PIA spokesperson confirmed flight steward Jibran Baloch’s slipping away from the flight saying that the measures taken to stop the string of incidents of flight crew members’ going missing in Canada turned out abortive. The PIA officials were working in coordination with the Toronto police to stop the process of its crew members slipping.
The PIA sources said submission of flight staff’s passports with the officials also did not bear fruit. They said the flight attendant performing duties on PK-782 on February 29 did not return home.
Baloch was the second flight attendant to have gone missing in Canada in one week allegedly to claim citizenship, they said adding that a female air hostess also vanished into thin air the same week from a hotel. The air steward reportedly left a note thanking the national flag carrier. About 10 flight attendants posted on Toronto-bound flights have slipped away in two years.
