Man attempts suicide after killing wife, injuring daughter

LAHORE:A 42-year-old man attempted suicide by slitting his wrists after killing his 40-year-old wife and injuring daughter in Islamnagar, Walton.

The suspect identified as Daud Yousaf reportedly a drug addict was frustrated due to domestic issues. On the day of the incident, he had an exchange of harsh words with his wife, Zainab and stabbed her to death in their Abid Road house.

According to a call made to Rescue 1122, he also injured his daughter. After leaving the victims severely injured, he attempted suicide by slitting his wrists. A rescue team reached the spot on information and shifted the injured to hospital.

Three arrested for torturing suspect

Sundar Police arrested three suspects for shaving head and torturing a suspected thief. Reportedly, a suspect had committed many thefts in the area and complaints were registered against him. On the day of the incident, locals of the area spotted the suspect and started torturing him. They also shaved his head, moustaches and eyebrows. Police arrested the suspected thief and three suspects involved in torturing him. They were identified as Farhan, Irshad and Syed Ahmad.

Child recovered; kidnapper held

A suspected beggar kidnapped a three-year-old child in Shad Bagh Police limits on Monday. Reportedly, the suspect identified as Farooq Aqa, a beggar, kidnapped a three-year-old child playing outside his house in Shad Bagh.

The family registered a complaint before police. SP City Qazi Ali said that police using information technology and CCTV cameras traced the suspect and recovered the child. They also arrested the suspect and registered a case against him.
