LAHORE: Keeping the youth abreast with skills regarding cyber security, the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Lahore Friday organised a training workshop for them at the YMCA Hall.
Students of different institutions and people of different age groups and walks of life attended the workshop title 'Cyber Friday'. During the one-day workshop, the participants were imparted training as how to avoid being exploited on social media platforms. They were exposed to tools for ensuring cyber security. The workshop trained the participants as how to safeguard themselves with issues related to cyber security. The virtual world can sometimes prove to be a trap for young people often targeted by malicious elements with nefarious designs. There is need to be aware of such elements and the blackmailers. Young Men’s Christian Association Lahore Director Haroon Rehmat was the chief guest on the occasion.
The chief guest and Young Men’s Christian Association secretary general Emanuel Sarfraz gave certificates to the participants at the end of workshop. In a statement, Rehmat said the Young Men’s Christian Association will continue to hold such programmes for the welfare of communities. He said hopefully people benefitting from them will be able to safeguard themselves in challenging times.
