The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won the General Elections 2024 on February 8, but a day after the polling, results were tampered in the Form 47.
Sindh PTI President Haleem Adil Sheikh, who also served as the leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly, said this in a video statement released on Thursday. He alleged that currently there was a buzz about the differences in the results of the Form 45 and Form 47 in every city of the country.
He said the PTI had approached the courts to reclaim its ‘stolen’ mandate. He added that according to the Form 45, his party had won 20 National Assembly seats in Karachi and two in Hyderabad as well 38 Sindh Assembly seats from across the province.
“We have all the Form 45 available with us and anyone wishes to see them is welcome,” he remarked. He claimed that in NA-238 Karachi East, he bagged 82,972 votes while the
Jamaat-e-Islami’s candidate secured 32,363 votes.
He alleged that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) candidate in the constituency could secure only 10,226 votes, but in the Form 47, the MQM-P candidate was declared successful with 54,884 votes and his own votes were reduced to 36,875.
“We have received this mandate from the people and they will hold everyone accountable for theft of each vote”, he asserted.
He said the PTI had moved applications in the high courts and Election Commission of Pakistan, adding that his party would approach each appellate forum, including the Supreme Court, against what he termed massive rigging in the elections.
“If the votes cast by the people were not counted correctly, a court of the public will be set up,” Sheikh said, adding that the PTI would chase down the “thieves and their masters” who manipulated the people’s mandate. “We are awake and will not let our mandate be snatched away like this.”
