This refers to the letter ‘Gas hike’ (February 21, 2024) by Talal Rafiq Rind. The writer has rightly pointed out the miseries of the middle classes and the poor of the country. The unending surge in the prices of gas and electricity has translated into greater distress for the less privileged as a bigger and bigger chunk of their income goes towards paying bills.
Reducing the burden of unprecedented inflation is certainly the major challenge for the new government to address.
