SIALKOT: More than 50 students of the Government Girls High School Pindi Bhago, a remote rural area of Tehsil Pasrur, along with their parents staged a demonstration on the premises of the District Courts in front of the DCO Office against their headmistress for allegedly not allowing them to participate in the 9th class exam despite passing of middle class exam.
The students and their parents, carrying banners and placards inscribing slogans against headmistress Sitara Kanwal, also took out a rally at Chowk Allama Iqbal and on Kutchehry Road. The students told media that they had passed the middle standard (class 8th) exam but headmistress of the school Sitara Kanwal allegedly had refused to allow them to participate in the 9th class exam. They said that the action of the headmistress would destroy their one educational year. They said that punishing dozens of innocent students and not the teachers for securing less marks was quite illogical. Despite repeated attempts, Headmistress Sitara Kanwal was not available for giving her version. However, EDO Education Muhammad Farooq on contact told that he was not fully aware of the situation. He, however, added that necessary action would certainly be taken if he received written complaint in this regard.
