JI Shura rejects Siraj’s resignation
Qaiser Sharif further said the JI chief would continue his duties according to the constitution

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Central Majlis-e-Shura on Saturday rejected the resignation of JI chief Sirajul Haq. According to spokesman Qaiser Sharif, the party’s Central Majlis-e-Shura meeting was held under the chairmanship of JI deputy chief Liaquat Baloch. Members from across the country participated in the meeting.
According to the spokesman, the Shura unanimously rejected the resignation of JI chief. Qaiser Sharif further said the JI chief would continue his duties according to the constitution. The failure of JI in the elections was not due to the JI head, it said. The spokesperson also rejected the results of elections and demanded resignation of the chief election commissioner.
