PESHAWAR: Two militants of the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed and a police constable embraced martyrdom during an operation by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Tank, officials said on Friday.
A CTD official said that Constable Zahid of the Gul Imam Police Station in Tank embraced martyrdom in the encounter. The official said a militant from the TTP Parakay Group, Faridullah, along with another militant, Amjad, were killed in the operation.
He added the terrorists managed to take the body of Farid alng while the body of Amjad was recovered.
The slain militants were wanted in several attacks on police, blasts, extortion calls, and target killings.
An operation is also being launched against the terrorists involved in attacks on Daraban and Chaudhwan police stations, the official said.
