Additional IG Special Branch Zulfiqar Hameed, DIG Azhar Akram, SSP Syed Nadeem Abbas, SSP Admin Headquarters Kamran Nawaz and CEO of private organisation JFK Zofishan Anushay were present in the ceremony. The retired sniffer dogs were awarded with medals and certificates of appreciation in recognition of their outstanding services in the ceremony. The dogs were handed over to their new owners under an MoU between Punjab Police and animal rights organisation.

Previously these dogs were killed with an injection after their retirement but IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar issued orders to start an adoption plan of retired dogs and ended this tradition.
