IGP gets appreciation letter of Norwegian police

LAHORE:Royal Norwegian Police expressed gratitude and appreciation for help and support of the Punjab police during the visit of Norwegian police delegation to Gujrat.

Royal Norwegian Embassy forwarded the letter to IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar. In the letter Nordic Police Liaison Officer Per Martin Bjartan expressed special thanks to the IGP and Gujrat police for providing support during Norwegian police delegation visit in connection with their official duties in Gujrat. In the letter Martin said the Punjab police provided excellent support to Norwegian Police officers.

The letter has also lauded cooperation and services of Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, DPO Gujrat Syed Asad Muzaffar, SP Investigation Muhammad Riaz and DSP Legal Akhtar Mahmood. About the letter, the IGP said the Punjab police are ensuring best professional cooperation and information sharing with police forces of other countries.

Efforts under way to enhance efficiency of special branch

Additional IG Special Branch Punjab Zulfiqar Hameed Thursday said several steps were under way for digitalisation and to increase the operational efficiency of Special Branch in continuation of which the Automatic Intelligence Reporting System (AIRS) has been inaugurated.

This modern intelligence system has been prepared by Special Branch Punjab in collaboration with private company (Confiz). The Additional IG Special Branch has said the launch of the AIRS is a good initiative of the Special Branch with support of the private company, this modern system data bank will help in preparation of special branch analytical reports. Zulfiqar Hameed said the use of the AIRS will play a key role in making intelligence reporting more efficient in the future.
