Electric bikes to help cut smog, says minister
LAHORE: Transport Minister Ibrahim Hasan Murad in a statement has said the Punjab Cabinet has approved summary of giving free electric bikes to 10,000 students.
Electric bikes will be given on easy terms. Ibrahim Hasan Murad said that with the support of Punjab Bank, electric bikes will be given free of interest on easy terms, while 7,000 electric bikes will be given to male students and 3,000 female students. The minister clarified that the students of Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi will be benefited while the youth can send their applications on the PITB portal. Ibrahim Hasan Murad said that students must have a driving licence while such an eco-friendly initiative can reduce environmental pollution and no doubt electric bikes will significantly reduce air pollution.
