LAHORE: Justice Ali Baqar Najafi of the Lahore High Court has dismissed the applications challenging the election results of Maryam Nawaz, Khawaja Asif, Ata Tarar, Saif ul Malook Khokhar, Aleem Khan, and others.
In an 11-page order Monday, the court dismissed the applications of Salman Akram Raja and others as inadmissible. The court directed the applicants to approach the Election Commission of Pakistan, which will decide on the results issued in the presence or absence of the applicants.
Earlier, the court returned the petition against the victory of former prime minister and PMLN Quaid Nawaz Sharif from NA-130 in Lahore. Ishtiaq Chaudhry, the lawyer of the imprisoned leader of PTI, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, had filed the petition that Nawaz Sharif was declared the loser in Form 45 but announced the winner in Form 47. The court, however, returned the petition based on the petitioner not being a party.
