RAWALPINDI: Former Member Punjab Assembly (MPA) Chaudhry Adnan was gunned down in an ambush by unknown assailants on Monday afternoon, police said.
Chaudhry Adnan was elected MPA from Rawalpindi on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ticket in 2018 but later separated from the party on some political controversy and took part in 2024 general elections independently on provincial and National Assembly seats.
The police said that Adnan was passing through main road near Jhanda Chichi area after attending a court case in the District Courts Complex, when two bike riding gunmen opened firing at his car and sped away.
The victim was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during surgery. The police have taken up the case and initiated investigation, suggesting that it could be a due to personal enmity.
