Three die in car-truck collision
LAHORE:Three people died in an accident between a car and a truck on Ashiana Road. Reportedly, the victims were riding a car and going somewhere. As their vehicle reached Ashiana Road, a truck collided with it.
As a result, seven persons received injuries. Nearby people called Rescue teams. They reached the spot on information and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital. However, three of them have been pronounced as brought dead. The deceased persons have been identified as Afzal, Mehmood and Fiyaz. The initial investigations suggested that the truck driver had lost control after tyres burst out.
Three booked for misbehaving with election official
Three suspects have been booked for misbehaving with a presiding officer and stealing a stamp in North Cantonment. Reportedly, the presiding officer had filed a complaint that the suspects had misbehaved with him. They also had made videos despite asking them to stop and also hurled threats at him. The suspects had also stolen a stamp. On his complaint, police have registered a case against Abbas Dogar, Ghazala and Asiya on the charges of interferences in government along with other offences.
Man, son among three injured in firing
Three people including a man and his son has been shot at and injured over a minor dispute in Factory Area. Reportedly, the victims had an exchange of harsh words with unidentified suspects after a youth collided with a motorcyclist. After an exchange of harsh words, a youth called his friends. They reached after sometime with fire arms and shot at the victims in Gulistan Colony on Ghazi Road. As a result, three people identified as Siddique 57, Muhammad Akram 34 and Nadeem received bullet injuries. They have been shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Gang of female robbers busted
Liaqatabad police have arrested two members of a female gang involved in burglary in houses. The suspects would barge into the houses on pretexts of being maids and conduct thefts, burglaries. They were caught on CCTV footages while looting a house in Pindi Rajputan. The suspects have been identified as Baili Bibi and Amna Bibi of Shahdara. In another incident reported in Civil Lines, two suspects have been arrested for stealing Wapda electricity wires. The arrested suspects have been identified as Muhammad Usman and Ali Raza. As many as 25 bundles of wires, two pistols and bullets have been recovered from their custody. Police said that they were investigating the matter.
Road accidents
At least 14 people died whereas 1,338 were injured in 1,338 accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 632 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 706 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams.
