BANNU: Protests against electoral results erupted in two provincial constituencies, resulting in the closure of educational institutions including universities and colleges.
Main roads in Bannu were blocked by long queues of vehicles due to the protests. All transport, including ambulances, remained suspended.
The protesters alleged that the commissioner and deputy commissioner along with the assistant returning officers changed the election results in Bannu’s constituencies PK-101 and PK-102, issuing results allegedly through bogus forms.Protests were held at various locations in Bannu and on Kohat Road as well, with participation of a large number of people from various constituencies.
