The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) has been working with all stakeholders to train food handlers so that they can handle food items according to the principles of hygiene.
SFA Director General (DG) Agha Fakhar Hussain said this while speaking as a chief guest at a workshop organised by the food authority in collaboration with an international store chain on Sunday.
The workshop was titled ‘Food Safety and Hygiene Training for Food Handlers’. The SFA DG said the food authority had provided training to 6,000 food handlers yet. SFA Director Masood Bhutto, Dr Ghufran, Chef Muqeem Soomro, senior head of operations Metro and others were also present on the occasion. Almost 200 food handlers attended the training workshop.
Hussain said that in every field, training was a must to enhance capacity building. Through this training food handlers would be able to handle food items according to hygienic principles, he maintained, adding that the SFA in collaboration with the stakeholders had been organising training workshops regularly that intended to provide better and healthy food to the people of Sindh. The SFA DG also distributed certificates among those who attended the training workshop.
