MANSEHRA: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl leader Mufti Kifayatullah on Saturday accepted his defeat in NA-15 and demanded the PMLN to follow suit.
“My party and I were optimistic to take this seat from PMLN supreme Nawaz Sharif, but we both lost to the PTI-backed independent candidate and should accept it wholeheartedly,” he told reporters here.
Mufti Kifayatullah said that captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar should never indulge in a weak legal battle with Gustasap Khan.
“The PMLN and PTI leaders must take measures to defuse the tension,” he said.
Meanwhile, Shahzada Gustasap Khan told journalists the Returning Officer NA-15 Hajrah Samee had already issued Form-47 confirming his return.
“Now district returning officer is creating hurdles in issuance of forms 48 and form 49 unjustifiably providing an opportunity to Nawaz Sharif to move to court of law to get status quo against my returning,” he said.
He warned he had already won the NA-15 constituency with a margin of over 25000 votes and the deputy commissioner should abide by the law.
