LAHORE: Senator Sherry Rehman, Vice-President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), said on Wednesday that it was the democratic right to question the process in a few constituencies.

Addressing a press conference, Sherry Rehman emphasized that raising questions does not imply a premature rejection of the entire process. She said the lack of explanations for the sudden changes in results of NA-127 was unexpected and merits scrutiny.

Sherry said the PPP will patiently await the results before issuing its final statement on the polls. “We are asking for the right figures, which is our constitutional right,” she added.

“Chairman BilawalBhutto Zardari has consistently demonstrated grace in both victory and defeat and our approach has consistently steered away from advocating for conflict and instability,” she said.

Sherry said the PPP’s commitment remains focused on upholding democratic values and ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process.

She said election results of Lahore’s constituency were manipulated, where party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari lost polls to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Attaullah Tarar. She added results were changed abruptly while Bilawal was leading in polls.
