ALPURI: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) won one national and two provincial assembly seats from the Shangla district while an independent candidate backed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claimed one slot in the KP legislature.
The PMLN KP chapter chief, Engineer Amir Muqam, succeeded from NA-11 by bagging 59,863 votes. He defeated Haji Said Fareen, an independent who was backed by the PTI, who secured 54,311 votes.
Muhammad Reshad Khan of the PMLN was successful from PK-28. He obtained 17, 172 votes. He defeated Shaukat Yousafzai, a former provincial minister from PTI, who received 11,873 votes.
PK-29 seat was claimed by PTI-supported independent candidate Haji Abdul Muneem who received 14,255 votes. He defeated Shaukat Ali of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl who bagged 13,160 votes.
Dr Ibad of PMLN, the younger brother of Engineer Amir Muqam and a former MNA, succeeded in PK-30 constituency. He received 14,221 votes to defeat Rehman who bagged 13,863 votes.
