19 injured in Torghar road mishaps

MANSEHRA: At least 19 people, including women, sustained injuries when two jeeps plunged into ravines in the Hilkot and Shagai areas of Torghar district on Thursday.

Eleven people, including a woman, sustained injuries when a passenger jeep fell into a gorge in the Hilkot area.

The jeep was on its way to Judbah from the Hilkot area when it suddenly developed a fault and fell into a ravine.

The locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the Civil Hospital in Judbah where the condition of three was stated to be critical.

The injured, including Mohammad Khalid, Aini Bibi, Alam Said, Naseem Zada, Abdul Jalil, Mohammad Ali, Taza Sher Afzal, Momia Bibi, Gul Bibi, Hassan Bano and Sana Maiy Bibi were referred to the Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad.

In another incident that happened in the Shagai area, seven people, including women, were seriously injured when a passenger jeep plunged into a ravine in the Shagai area of Torghar.

The jeep, carrying passengers, was on its way from Judbah, the district headquarters of Torghar, when the driver lost control over the steering as a result of which it skidded off the bumpy road and fell into the gorge.

The Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the Civil Hospital in Judbah.

The doctors referred all the injured to the Ayub Medical Complex Hospital Abbottabad where the condition of two women was stated to be critical.

According to Rescue 1122, the injured include Shimroz Khan, 75, Farooqi Mammon, 35, Sania Bibi, 30, Mashkook Bibi, 70 and her granddaughter Said Bibi, 15, Shareen Sabah, 40, and Rehmatullah, 50.
