TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami chief and candidate for NA-6 Sirajul Haq on Tuesday said that capitalists and landlords had been ruling Pakistan for the last 76 years and it was the right time to get rid of them.

Addressing a gathering of his party workers, he said the nation had witnessed the governments of the PMLN, PPP and PTI in the past and none of them had the ability to steer the country out of crises.

The JI chief said that during his tenure as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa senior minister, the University of Malakand, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Malakand, Koto hydropower project, upgradation of local hospitals and establishment of new colleges were approved by the government. He said the JI wanted to rid the people of the slavery of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and other global financial institutions. He said that the major political parties like PMLN, PPP and PTI had failed to fulfill their pledges made with the nation. He said that all those parties had deceived the nation one way or the other.

The JI chief said that Pakistan had come into being under an Islamic ideology. He said that inflation, unemployment and lawlessness had made life miserable for the masses. He alleged the US wanted to impose another war on this region, which should be thwarted with unity of the nation.

He said the JI would work to bring all political parties on the same page after the general election. He said the cooperation and coordination among Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and Gulf States was the need of the hour to sabotage the US designs in the region.

Sirajul Haq asked the participants to convey the JI’s election manifesto to voters so that they would support it for a greater cause. He said the JI would never disappoint the nation if it was given a chance to rule. He said the JI had an expertise in each field with a pious and honest leadership.

He said the major political parties had disappointed the nation and they had lost their right to govern the country.

The JI chief said the previous rulers were responsible for the mess. Without naming PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he said that one of the leaders considered the position of prime minister as his ancestral asset of his grandfather and mother while another one wanted to be made the prime minister for the fourth time.

He asked the JI workers to reach each voter and convince them to vote for his party for true change, development and prosperity.

The JI chief condemned the killing of independent candidate Rehanzeb Khan in Bajaur and demanded the government to arrest the killers.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Rah-e-Haq Party candidate for NA-7 Maulana Ubaidullah Anwar on Tuesday withdrew from the election in favour of JI nominee Maulana Muhammad Ismail and PK-15 candidate Azizullah Khan.

He made the announcement during a press conference at the Chakdara Press Club. The JI nominees Maulana Muhammad Ismail and Azizullah Khan along with other political activists were present.
