HARIPUR: To review the security measures planned for February 8 (election day), the chief secretary KP Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry and Inspector General Police Akhtar Hayat Khan Gandapur on Tuesday visited different polling stations of the district.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Khan, SP Investigation Amjad Hussain Khan and officials of district election commission also attended the briefing and shared their input.
District Police Officer Omar Khan Gandapur briefed the chief secretary and the IGP about the arrangements. The chief secretary asked the ECP officials and district administration to ensure the observance of election related SOPs by the candidates and voters.
He said that providing facilities to the voters was imperative for holding transparent elections.
He asked the district administration to make arrangements of providing potable water and availability of washrooms for voters at all the polling stations of the district.
