HYDERABAD: Unidentified persons on Monday opened fire on the vehicle of Pakistan Peoples Party’s candidate Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah from PS-46 Mirpurkhas.
He was initially shifted to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital from where he was referred to Karachi. According to SSP Adil Memon, the PPP leader was injured by the glass of the windscreen and a bullet barely missed him.
He said police would inquire into the incident and arrest the culprits.
A spokesperson for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said the ECP had taken notice of the firing incident and sought a report from the Sindh chief secretary and police chief, directing them to take immediate action against the perpetrators.
