Ignored field

So much importance is given to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education in Pakistan nowadays. While it is indeed the need of the hour, ignoring the arts will produce disastrous results for an already struggling society. One benefit of the arts is the development of empathy, which other fields may not produce among students.
They also help spark imagination and creativity. Does education without empathy, creativity, and imagination have any utility for our society? If science provides ease to humans, the arts provide emotional comfort which is just as, if not even more, essential for peace.
