Governor, minister discuss improving education quality
LAHORE : Provincial Caretaker Minister for Education Mansoor Qadir met with the Punjab Governor/Chancellor Baligh-ur-Rehman and held a detailed conversation on the matters pertaining to higher education.
According to a handout, both of them exchanged their views for solving the administrative and academic problems of the universities on a preferential basis. Mansoor Qadir submitted his recommendations to the governor pertaining to improving the university affairs. Mansoor Qadir emphasised that there was a dire need to put a special focus on the new universities.
Baligh-ur-Rehman on the occasion stated that the universities were the focal point of education and wisdom and their standards needed to be further elevated. He acknowledged that the positive role of universities in making the new generation useful citizens could not be denied. He said that being the Chancellor, he was keenly overseeing the financial and administrative affairs of the universities so that these could be further brought at par with international standards to improve quality of education across the province.
