MANSEHRA: The police on Sunday barred the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-backed contestant in NA-15, Shahzada Gustasap Khan, from holding a public gathering in the Judbah area of Torghar.

Shahzada Gustasap was on his way to Judbah, the district headquarters of Torghar, to hold a public gathering when a police contingent stopped his convoy at Shahgai police post.

“You can’t proceed ahead to the Judbah to hold the public gathering,” the SHO told Shahzada Gustasap at Shahgai post.

He added his high-up had ordered them not to allow the vehicular convoy beyond this post.

The PTI-backed contender tried to convince the SHO asking him to allow him to go ahead as he had to address a gathering in Judbah.

And after an hour of heated arguments, Deputy Commissioner Ziaur, through a telephone message, directed the police to allow them to proceed ahead.

However, the police again intervened and didn’t allow the PTI workers to hold a public gathering at Judbah.

Later, a PTI-backed contender moved to a local jirga hall and addressed the gathering.

“Our leader is behind bars and you cast your votes to support PTI in steering this country out of economic and political crises,” he said. As many as 16 contenders have been vying for NA-15 Mansehra-II, which is stretching to the entire Torghar district.
