FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has sealed six more private housing schemes, which are being set up without approval of the authority.
Talking to newsmen here on Monday, FDA Additional Director General Amer Aziz said that the sealed colonies are Awais Garden, New Garden, New Garden Town, VIP Block (Jaranwala Road), New Garden Town (Satiana Road) and Roshan Block (Susan Road). He said that it was mandatory for the private housing schemes developers to get approval from the FDA before launching their projects. Under Section (5) 12 of the Punjab Local Government Ordinance 2001 and the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976, the FDA had been empowered to stop construction of illegal housing schemes and to seal them, he added. Amir said that the FDA had demolished boundary walls and gates of the illegal housing schemes. He asked the people not to purchase plots in the illegal housing schemes. Earlier, the FDA had sealed five illegal housing schemes about 14 days ago.
