Torture of trader
Case ordered against TMO, 11 others
From Our Correspondent
CHAKWAL: Additional District and Sessions Judge Moeen Khokhar on Monday ordered the City SHO to register a case against the TMO and 11 others staffers of the TMA on the charges of torturing a trader and stealing bedsheets from his shop
The judge, however, rejected the plea to include AC Musawar Khan Naizi in the case. In a petition, Javed Iqbal alleged that the TMO Chakwal along with Enforcement Inspector Khawaja Zahid Mehmood, Fazal Kareem, Saleem Arshad, Mohammad Ijaz, Mohammad Qasim, Raja Masroor and seven other TMA staffers at the behest of the AC detained him in the AC’s office and tortured him.
The petitioner also filed an oath on a stamp paper by Khawaja Zahid Mehmood, stating that he (Zahid) registered an FIR against him on the alleged order of the AC. Zahid, who was also present in the court, failed to satisfy the judge. To it, the judge dismissed the plea to include the AC in the case.
