LAHORE : Film screening and award distribution ceremony of film festival organised by the Punjab Police was held at Al Hamra Hall, in which the crime thriller film Jujji, produced by BHK Films, was declared the best film of the festival.
Famous filmmaker Syed Noor awarded shields to director Habib Shahzad and team of Jujji Film, filmmaker Syed Noor announced in his address making a film on police. Syed Noor said that the Police Film Festival has given new hope to young filmmakers.
Senior artist Rashid Mehmood appreciated the Punjab Police for organising a successful film festival and said that it is the need of the hour to present the true image of the police force in films and dramas, such festivals also encourage young filmmakers beside bringing attention to important topics.
IG Dr Usman Anwar thanked the jury members and filmmakers of the film festival. Speaking at the film screening ceremony, the IG said that Punjab Police is a family, that protects our nation & country, and resolves every complaint even if it is fake news.
Dr Usman Anwar said that we challenge If you go to our police stations, service centers, license centers, you will see a positive change in attitudes, Dr. Usman Anwar said, "Terrorists can try as hard as they want, we will eradicate them from the roots. Punjab Police is fully committed and ready to eradicate the menace of terrorism. IG Punjab said that Punjab police traced the international conspiracies in Sialkot and Sargodha within time period of hours, IG Punjab said that these international conspiracies were foiled by the policemen who face ridiculous portrayal in shows. He said that I claim there will be no police station more beautiful than Gulberg Lahore police station in China, Japan, USA. He said Punjab Police fulfill its promise to clear the Kacha area after a successful operation.
Filmmaker Syed Noor, senior artist Rashid Mehmood, film director Masood Butt, producer Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali Mana and other personalities related to film and literature attended the ceremony.
Additional IG Operations Punjab Shahzada Sultan gave a briefing about the aims and objectives of the film festival and the subject of the films. Additional IG Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, Additional IG Welfare and Finance Additional IG Procurement, Additional IGs, DIGs, Senior Police Officers, Film, TV, Celebrities from all walks of life, Friends of Police and Volunteers in Police Students of educational institutions attended the screening. \IG Dr Usman Anwar's mission of providing houses to the families of police martyrs who embraced martyrdom before 2017 is on the way to completion. In continuation of which IG Dr Usman Anwar has provided documents of plots to families of 10 more martyrs of Dera Ghazi Khan region. The ownership papers of the plots have been provided to the families of the 10 police martyrs.
Dr Usman Anwar met the families of the police martyrs and provided them with the ownership papers of the plots in the housing schemes equipped with all the facilities in the ceremony held at the Safe City Authority. DG Police's Inspector Muhammad Safdar Ali shaheed, Sub-Inspectors Rab Nawaz, Ghulam Abbas, ASI Ashiq Hussain, Shaheed Muhammad Salik, Shaheed Head Constable Ahmad Bakhsh, Constable Naeem Haider, Shahzad Akram, Ghulam Akbar and Shaheed Ghulam Siddiq's families were given the plot papers.
DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salah ud din said that IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar took the responsibility to provide plots for the construction of houses for the all families of 1,375 martyrs before 2017 and till now plots equipped with all facilities for the families of 588 martyrs.
IG Dr Usman Anwar said that Rs1 crore 95 lakh has been provided to the families of the martyrs from the endowment fund in the form of installments for the construction of houses on the plots, and financial assistance to more families will remain continue in this regard. The families of police martyrs who received ownership papers of plots thanked the IG.
