Six POs arrested from abroad

Arrested proclaimed offenders include Hamad Shahbaz, Abu Bakar, Imtiaz Ahmad, M Rizwan, Bilal Mustafa and Ali Raza

LAHORE : Punjab Police traced six proclaimed offenders from Dubai and brought them at Islamabad after completing all legal processes.

The arrested proclaimed offenders include Hamad Shahbaz, Abu Bakar, Imtiaz Ahmad, M Rizwan, Bilal Mustafa and Ali Raza.

Proclaimed offender Hamad Shahbaz escaped abroad after killing a citizen in Gujranwala in 2022. M Rizwan killed a citizen in Faisalabad in 2023 and escaped abroad.

Proclaimed offenders Abu Bakr and Imtiaz Ahmed fled abroad after killing a citizen in Gujranwala last year.

Proclaimed offender Bilal Mustafa was wanted by the Sialkot police since 2015 in a murder case whereas PO Ali Raza was absconding abroad for two years after killing a citizen in Jhelum in 2022.

Two arrested for abducting taxi driver

Ravi Road Police arrested two suspects involved in abduction of an online taxi driver for ransom.

SP City Qazi Ali while speaking to media said that police had received a call about the suspects.

They spotted and intercepted the suspects by using latest technology. However, the suspects on seeing police resorted to firing. In exchange of firing, a suspect received bullet injuries. However, their third accomplice fled the scene. They were identified as Ahmad and Abdul Razzaq.

14 die in road accidents in 24 hours

Around 14 people died, whereas 1,186 were injured in 1,107 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of these, 532 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 654 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

‘Robber’ killed in encounter

A suspected robber who had shot at and injured an Organised Crime Unit Nawankot cop was killed in an encounter in a private housing society on Ferozepur Road.

Reportedly, police had received information about the presence of the suspected robbers in a hideout near Nishter Colony.

Heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot. On seeing police, the suspected robbers resorted to firing. A suspected robber received bullet injuries and died. He was identified as Toseeq Ahmad of Okara.
