LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court has started trial of accused, including Dr Yasmin Rashid, in the case of setting fire to Shadman police station, who would be indicted tomorrow (Saturday).
PTI leaders Dr Yasmin, Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed and Ejaz Chaudhry were presented before Judge Muhammad Naveed Iqbal. The case challan includes charges of sedition.
Meanwhile, the court sent PTI’s leader Aliya Hamza to jail on 14-day judicial remand in a case of torching Shadman Police Station.
Earlier, the police produced Aliya Hamza before the ATC and sought physical remand.
The investigation officer submitted her custody was required for investigations.
However, the defence counsel opposed the plea and requested the court to discharge his client.
He contended that his client was involved in another case when her bail was approved. The court, after hearing arguments of the parties, turned down plea for physical remand.
The court also ordered provision of the copies of challan in the case of setting fire to police vehicles to the accused on February 3 (tomorrow).
Former MNA Rubina Jameel, Khadija Shah, social media activist Sanam Javed are nominated in the case.The court also extended the physical remand of PTI leader Khalid Gujjar by 11 days
