Addressing the policemen during his visit, the chief minister said sacrifices of the KP Police force would be remembered forever.

He said the government would provide all resources to the KP Police to fight the war as well as take care of the ghazis and families of martyrs.

Around 100 policemen were martyred and over 200 were injured in a suicide attack in the mosque of the Peshawar Police Lines on January 30, last year. The suicide bomber had managed to enter the police headquarters despite several layers of security and had detonated explosives tied to his vest.
