Suspect takes cop’s life inside police post

PESHAWAR: A policeman was martyred when an accused arrested in a murder case allegedly shot him dead in the syphon chowki in Badaber town on Tuesday.

A police official said a man, Mujahid, had been arrested for his alleged involvement in a murder case who was being kept at Syphon police post.

The accused reportedly sought permission to attend the washroom which was granted. In the meanwhile, he snatched a gun from a cop and opened fire that killed constable Amir Zaman.

The accused escaped after committing the crime. Police said raids were launched to arrest him.
