LAHORE : In response to reports of substandard ethanol found in some cough syrups sold in Punjab, Director General Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Punjab, Muhammad Ali, has taken notice.
According to the Excise Department's spokesperson, DG Excise has sent letters to the Head of Drugs Regulatory Authority of Pakistan and Chief Controller of Drugs Punjab, seeking details of cough syrups containing substandard ethanol. It was stated that after investigations, strict actions would be taken against pharmaceutical companies producing such substandard cough syrups.
