CHARSADDA: Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president and candidate from NA-25 Aimal Wali said on Monday that the ANP holds a strong footing in Peshawar and Malakand divisions.
Speaking at a gathering in the Doaba area, Aimal encouraged party workers to actively participate on election day.
Accompanying him at the campaign event, ANP candidate Shahzad Uddin also addressed the gathering.
Aimal dismissed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as a “dead party” incapable of competing with the ANP based on performance.
However, he acknowledged a weaker position for ANP in Hazara division, pointing out the strength of PTI and PMLN in the southern and Hazara regions.
Regarding the upcoming election results, Aimal refrained from making specific comments on the day but expressed the hope that the outcome would favour the party’s struggle.
Addressing the issue of the 18th Amendment, he emphasised the lack of progress on the matter and the urgency for action on the constitutional amendment.
“Despite generating 6,000 MW of electricity, our region faces darkness and despite producing 40 pc of gas, it receives only 4 pc,” he added.
