Two Lyari gangsters held after encounter
Two suspected members of a Lyari-based gang were arrested after an encounter with the police on Sunday.
According to the District City police spokesperson, two suspects involved in the Lyari gang war were arrested during an encounter with the police.
A hand grenade and two pistols were seized from their possession. The suspects were identified as Hunzala and Abdul Rahim Patni. The exchange of fire occurred within the jurisdiction of the Kalakot police station.
Preliminary investigations suggested that the suspects were associated with the Lyari gang war, the spokesperson said, adding that the suspects used to extort money from traders and collect ransom. The suspects' criminal record is being investigated and cases will be registered against them.
