PESHAWAR: Insaf Lawyer Forum (ILF) provincial president Qazi Muhammad Anwar Advocate on Sunday called for a fair trial to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in the cipher case.
Talking to the media, the senior lawyer who was once the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, said a fair trial was a basic right of the accused.
“It will put under question the transparency of the general elections if Imran Khan was convicted after denying him a fair trial,” he feared and added that it would be a big setback for the country at the international level.
The PTI leader alleged that the judge was not providing Imran Khan the opportunity to defend himself in the cipher case. He termed the very attitude of the judge highly lamentable.
