CHARSADDA: Awami National Party provincial president Aimal Wali Khan said on Saturday that they did not want Afghanistan like government in Pakistan to impose a ban on girls education and trample human rights.
Addressing a public meeting held as part of election campaign in Umarzai near here, he said that the state had cornered the leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and its independent candidates after winning elections would be wooed to Pervez Khattak forcefully. He said that casting vote to PTI candidates was equal to giving vote to Pervez Khattak as the independents would be sold at high price. Aimal Wali said that Bacha Khan was a great leader, who had always raised voice for the rights of Pakhtuns and demanded provincial autonomy for the time. “Bacha Khan’s ideology is non-violence. The ideological struggle continues and no one can deny the services of Bacha Khan,” he said. “The philosophy of our politics is peace, rule of law, constitutionalism and restoration of true democracy,” the nationalist leader said, adding that they wanted pens and books for their children, not guns. He also talked about the achievements of the ANP-led government and demanded proper implementation of the 18th Constitutional Amendment.
He said that financial order was very important to get out of economic difficulties. “Unfortunately, important political figures also became victims of terrorism in the yester years,” Aimal Wali said, vowing that the sense of deprivation of Pakhtuns would be removed at all costs. He said that they had to learn from past mistakes and move forward and the focus of politics should always be public service.
