Addressing the launch of the book “Dastur-i-Madinah and Concept of Welfare State,” authored by Dr. Hasan Muhyiddin Qadri, at Aiwan-i-Iqbal, Dr. Tahir said that the Madinah Covenant is the mother of all constitutions.

He mentioned that his first book on the Covenant of Madinah was published in October 1999, wherein he had translated the 63 articles of the covenant into constitutional language. Subsequently, he handed the book to Dr. Hasan Mohiuddin Qadri, asking him to conduct a careful analytical comparison with modern constitutions, including those of America, Britain, and Europe, and make it the subject of his Ph.D.

Dr. Tahir expressed satisfaction that Dr. Hasan had diligently conducted his research and completed his Ph.D. on the topic.

Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Prof Dr. Qibla Ayaz commended the book, saying that it provides the Ummah with authentic material on the state of Madinah and offers intellectual clarity. He encouraged the audience to applaud the research.

Dr. Hasan Qadri described the Constitution of Madinah as a unique example in terms of thought, scope, and words. He said that it didn’t copy anything from the systems of superpowers of that time, highlighting it as a miracle of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.).

Journalist and analyst Oriya Maqbool Jan said that the state of Medina remains a role model for the Ummah today, showcasing Islam’s broad heart and vision, devoid of narrow-mindedness and extremism.

Eminent personalities, including former judge Dr. Khalid Ranjha, Lahore High Court Bar president Ishtiaq A. Khan, Senior Advocate Azhar Siddique, and scholars from the Arab world, who joined through a video link, congratulated Dr. Hasan Muhyiddin Qadri. Students, faculty members, and various dignitaries attended the event.
