AMP leader’s aide held under 16 MPO

OKARA: Police have arrested Abdullah Tahir, an aide of detained Anjuman-e-Mazareen Punjab general secretary Mehr Abdus Sattar, under 16 MPO and shifted him to the District Jail. He has been detained for 30 days on the orders of DCO Sucrat Aman Rana.
Meanwhile, Minister for Irrigation Mian Yawar Zaman and MNA Nadeem Abbas Rubera, in their separate statements on Sunday, said that the district administration and police were active against alleged criminals and other anti-social elements in villages of the Military Farms Okara (MFO).
Mian Yawar Zaman said that 16 villages of the MFO fell under his constituency and he knew ground realities of the constituency. MNA Nadeem Abbas Rubera said that seven villages of the Kulyana Estate fell under his constituency. He said that he succeeded to obtain allocation of 5,500 residential plots for each family of the Kulyana Estate during the previous rule of CM Shahbaz Sharif. He said that tenants were feeling freedom from the tyrannical oppression of the so-called AMP leaders. Talking to newsmen on telephone, PPP district president and former MNA Ch Sajjadul Hassan said that the tenants had supported the PPP in the past on account of the party manifesto. Under the leadership of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the PPP was with the tenants for their cause, he added.
