24 flights cancelled due to fog

LAHORE: Heavy fog has led to the cancellation of 750 flights in the first 26 days of the year, with an additional 180 flights diverted to alternative airports. Friday alone, 24 flights were cancelled due to fog, and six were diverted to alternative airports.

Notable diversions include PIA flight PK 284 from Dubai to Peshawar and PIA flight PK 286 from Doha to Peshawar, both diverted to Islamabad.Flights from Islamabad to Doha, Medina, Kuwait City, and Riyadh were Similarly, flights from Islamabad to London, Quetta, Muscat, and Toronto were also delayed. Delays were reported for flights from Peshawar to Doha and Dubai, as well as flights from Lahore to Dubai, Jeddah, Dammam, Riyadh, Muscat, and Bahrain.Karachi also faced delays, affecting flights to Dammam, Jeddah, Islamabad, Doha, Muscat, and Quetta. Additionally, two flights, PK 246 and 244, from Dammam to Islamabad and Sialkot were diverted to Lahore.

PIA flight PK 240 from Kuwait City to Islamabad landed at Lahore, and flight PK 248 from Dammam to Lahore was diverted to Islamabad.Cancellation notices included two flights from Islamabad to Jeddah. Flights ER 702 and PK 233 to Dubai, Muscat flight PF 735, Islamabad to Karachi flights ER 503 and 505, Islamabad to Gilgit flights PK 601, 602, 605, and 606, and two PIA flights PK 536 and 537 between Karachi and Sukkur were cancelled.Further cancellations involved Peshawar to Abu Dhabi flight PK 118, Dubai flight 283, and Karachi flight ER 554. Multan to Dubai flights PK 221 and 222, Lahore to Karachi flights ER 522, 523, 524, and 526, and PIA Flight 236 to Abu Dhabi from Lahore, along with PK 322 and 323 to Quetta were also cancelled.
